My mother liked the sarees a lot. Thank you. The small border and classic silk cotton weave of Maheshwari silk saree is impressive. I also see that you have Maheshwari Sarees woven in twill. However, it would be nice to have some classic Maheshwari weave in more colours with small borders. Most sarees on the website currently have big borders. Remember, that as much as creativity and innovation are encouraged, you cannot ignore the classic weaves and materials. It is also not fair to diverge from the original weave and designs especially when they are registered as GI and the GI has been renewed recently. As a seller labelling items as Maheshwari sarees, but, diverging from specifications as registered under the GI May cause problems under Sale of Goods Act.
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad your mother liked the 'Maheshwari Cotton saree' purchased from us.
We would like to clarify that just as this saree labelled as Maheshwari was identified by you as Maheshwari, our collection of Maheshwari labelled sarees are handwoven in the looms and the hands of weavers of Maheshwar.
Moreover, the twill weave is a hand weaving technique where the weaver used 4 pedals instead of two and with regards to the border the GI documents says this 'The
specialty of Maheshwari Sarees is its distinctive border which looks alike
from both the sides. Normally the border is traditionally 2.0 to 2.5 inches with
geometric designs.' There is no restriction on the height of the border.
Furthermore, we would love for you to go through some of our reels on our instagram page where we have been talking about different weaves since a long time
